Smashing targets to Beat Cancer

Giving back is in our nature and with 2017 already in full swing, our June donation date for Cancer Research UK is looming. We launched a few company events in support of World Cancer Day for a huge push towards our total, including a company Bake Off and Plank Challenge.

Reading HQ were busy practising in the run up to the Plank Challenge, with some very impressive times emerging from the Business Support teams! On the day our recruiters put up fierce resistance when holding their planks, but were beaten back by Vin, our resident IT superstar, who reached a fantastic seven minutes.

To satisfy the secret cake lover that lives inside all of us at Daniel Owen we also held a ‘Break Through Bake Off’ to raise even more money. Our colleagues held cake lunches across the offices in support of Cancer Research UK and generously emptied their wallets over the course of the day.

We were over the moon with our fundraising result as it means Cancer Research UK will now receive a minimum £4118 in June 2017 (£2118 from our efforts, which is matched by the company to add an extra £2000).
