Kelly Potter's Ghanaian Initiative

Daniel Owen is proud to support Kelly Potter, our Partnerships Director, and her volunteer initiative in the Volta region of Ghana. Partnering with a local educational charity to provide support to children in need, Kelly has personally flown out to help communities.

 Leading to this point has been 2 years of fundraising, hard work and raising awareness of the project. Many things we take for granted in UK schools, like sanitary washroom conditions, often require external investment in these communities. That’s why Kelly and Tammy started all this and to date have raised over £6500 to help improve conditions for children in Ghana.

Their first nights highlighted the stark realities faced by many in the developing world. Basic accommodation, limited infrastructure, and an environment completely removed from familiar comforts present the challenges that residents have to face daily. When children face these challenges in the classroom and at home, it highlights the importance of also sharing these experiences with our own communities.

 During the project, the experience between the volunteers and the community has been eye-opening. The incredible enthusiasm and positivity from local children is inspiring, and shows how crucial global collaboration is to understanding the world’s differences.
