Hike for Heroes: Fundraising Charity Walk

On March 23^rd, 2024, we embarked on a journey up Pen-y-Fan to enjoy the breathtaking views and honour and support the brave men and women who have selflessly served our nation.

The ‘Hike for Heroes’ event allowed us to raise a whopping £1,544 in aid of Help for Heroes, a fantastic charity which strives to aid and support veterans who have faced life-changing injuries and illnesses because of their service. With each step we took, we aimed to show our gratitude and appreciation for their courage and sacrifice.

Our original goal of £1000 was smashed out of the park within four weeks of fundraising after raising the donation target to £1,250, which was then surpassed two weeks before the event. We now stand at £1,544, and donations are still flooding in!

A massive thank you to everyone who contributed through donations, contributions, or simply showing your support. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in veterans' lives, whether through paying for therapy, medical treatment, or rehabilitation.

But our journey doesn't end here. As we reflect on the experience of climbing Pen-y-Fan and the camaraderie shared along the way, we are reminded of the resilience and strength of our veterans. They have faced challenges far greater than a mountain ascent, yet they continue to inspire us with their courage and determination.
