In honour of International Women’s Day, our team at Daniel Owen recently attended an event hosted by Women in Social Housing (WISH). Held at the prestigious Zaha Hadid Architects office, the event brought together remarkable women shaping the social housing landscape with their resilience and hard work.
The event celebrated women's invaluable contributions to the social housing industry. Whether as leaders shaping new policies, advocates amplifying voices, or contributing to their communities, these women are the driving force behind positive change.
The evening was filled with engaging conversations, diverse perspectives, and inspiring stories. The team had the opportunity to listen to a diverse panel of speakers featuring Effie Nakajima, Kaz Foncette, Kim Rowell, and Alicia Richardson, who shared powerful insights into their career journeys and delivered messages of empowerment.
At the heart of the event was the key message surrounding inspiring inclusion. There was a large emphasis on authenticity, supporting other women, and supporting each other as essential to achieving a gender-equal world.
Hannah Smith, Sarah Jane-Bradish, Weronika Rodzynko, Layla Smith, and Evelyn Brown represented Daniel Owen. They all gained valuable insight into women in the social housing industry and described the event as inspirational and empowering.
Our experience at the Women in Social Housing (WISH) event was inspiring. As we reflect on the powerful conversations, diverse perspectives, and messages of empowerment shared throughout the evening, it is evident that women are leading forces in shaping the social housing landscape.
We are grateful for the opportunity to participate and look forward to continuing to celebrate and amplify the achievements of Women in Social Housing. Thank you to the event organisers, speakers, and fellow participants for making the event great!
