We liked 2019, it felt good. It started well and only got better for us, the Construction Industry and the Built Environment as a whole. At the end of each year we like to look and reflect on our achievements, and we are pleased to share with everyone some of our highlights. The infographic below is our glance at a great year.

One of our proudest achievements is the continued support and working relationship with some of our longest serving candidates. One of whom achieved his 5213th working day with us, after starting his journey as a temporary worker at Daniel Owen in 1996. We take pride in knowing we have well-known workers, and this is a brilliant example of one of our value propositions. Further to this we had 1,850 loyalty scheme qualifiers, many of whom can be seen in our @danielowen_construction Instagram feed, having their rewards hand delivered by one of our consultants. Well done to all our loyal workers! There is little more our recruiters like than getting out on site, meeting with their clients and workers…… and the icing on the cake is when there is a loyalty thank you for handing over as well.

Site visits, which can include brownfield, groundworks, house building projects, refurbishments, social housing, rail, bench joining units, shopfitting retail units and fit outs, large- and small-scale developments amongst others keep us busy as we cover the majority of the UK. Across 8 offices we worked with 928 clients, an increase of 95 on 2018. Our client’s range in size from large national organisations with £700+ million turnover, councils and government organisations, to sole traders and start-ups. We also paid 1,200 more candidates this year than last and saw an 8% increase in revenue, go Daniel Owen! We have a People Focus and paying our candidates on time every time is something we work hard to achieve.

In 2015 we filled 7,606 temporary jobs, 4 years later we filled 16,727. More than doubling our workers out is going to help as we move forward into 2020. With an estimated 5% increase in the construction industry* and £4.1 billion allocated to maintenance and renewals* we can only anticipate the increase in sector activity for the start of the new decade.
