Maintenance Surveyor - Kent Region
Contract Length: Temporary
Location: Kent Region
Salary: £40/hour (Umbrella)
Role Overview:
A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join a social housing team in the Kent Region. This role offers a diverse range of duties, including the inspection and management of damp and mould issues, as well as overseeing day-to-day repairs in social housing properties. The ideal candidate will have experience working with contractors and a strong understanding of housing legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct damp and mould surveys in social housing properties to identify and diagnose issues, including leaks, condensation, and inadequate ventilation.
Create detailed reports and specifications for repair works, prioritising urgent issues that affect tenant safety and comfort.
Oversee the day-to-day repairs, ensuring all works meet the necessary safety, compliance, and quality standards.
Collaborate with contractors to ensure repairs are completed efficiently, to the required standards, and on time.
Act as the primary point of contact for tenants regarding repairs, addressing concerns and managing expectations.
Ensure compliance with housing legislation, including HHSRS and Awaab's Law.
Provide technical advice on damp & mould issues and disrepair, working with legal teams to resolve claims where necessary.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on all inspections, repairs, and completed works.
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience as a Maintenance Surveyor with a focus on social housing and damp & mould issues.
Knowledge of HHSRS, disrepair legislation, and relevant housing compliance standards.
Experience managing day-to-day repairs and liaising with contractors to ensure work meets standards.
Ability to diagnose damp, mould, and related issues and produce clear reports with actionable recommendations.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage tenant expectations and work collaboratively with contractors.
Experience working under an umbrella PAYE or similar arrangement.
