We're looking for an experienced Damp and Mould Operative to join a local social housing provider in North London. This role offers the chance to work within a trusted repairs and maintenance team delivering essential plastering repairs to social housing properties, with the opportunity to secure permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and treating damp and mould issues using approved methods and specialist products.
  • Removing and replacing damaged surfaces, including plaster, paint, wallpaper, and other finishes affected by damp.
  • Cleaning and preparing affected areas, ensuring surfaces are properly treated before decoration.
  • Applying anti-mould treatments and sealants to prevent recurrence.
  • Carrying out redecoration works including painting, wallpapering, and minor plastering following treatment.
  • Performing minor repairs related to damp and mould remediation, such as patch plastering, sealant replacements, and basic carpentry.
  • Using a handheld PDA device to receive job orders, record completed work, and update maintenance logs.
  • Working in both occupied and void properties, maintaining professionalism and minimising disruption to tenants.
  • Communicating effectively with tenants, offering reassurance and clear explanations of the work being carried out.

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points or a driving ban within the last 3 years)
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plastering (desirable)
  • Basic Criminal Record Check
